1   AN ACT to amend 20.285 (1) (sp) (title); and to create 20.285 (1) (at) and 36.25
2        (58) of the statutes; relating to: funding for the Wisconsin Institute for
3        Sustainable Technology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and
4        making an appropriation.
                     Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
         This bill requires the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System
    to provide funding to the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology at
    UW-Stevens Point to broaden the institute's support for, and further technical
    contributions to, the state's forest and paper industries and for the institute's
    ongoing operations. The bill creates an appropriation from the general fund for this
    purpose.

    an appendix to this bill.
    The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
        enact as follows:
5        SECTION 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert
6   the following amounts for the purposes indicated:

 6           SECTION 2. 20.285 (1) (at) of the statutes is created to read:
 7           20.285 (1) (at) Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology. The amounts
 8   in the schedule to support the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology as
 9   provided in s. 36.25 (58).
10           SECTION 3. 20.285 (1) (sp) (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
11           20.285 (1) (sp) (title) Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology; other
12   funding.
13           SECTION 4. 36.25 (58) of the statutes is created to read:
14           36.25 (58)   INSTITUTE   FOR   SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY    AT THE    UNIVERSITY   OF
15   WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT. From the appropriation under s. 20.285 (1) (at), the Board
16   of Regents shall provide funding to the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable
17   Technology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to broaden the institute's
18   support for, and further technical contributions to, the state's forest and paper
19   industries and for the institute's ongoing operations.
