2023 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 64

1 Relating to: congratulating Grace Stanke on winning the 2023 Miss America
2 pageant.
3 Whereas, Grace Stanke of Wausau, Wisconsin, has won the title of Miss
4 America 2023, becoming the third Wisconsin woman to hold this title; and
5 Whereas, Grace Stanke first competed in the Miss Wisconsin competition in
6 2021 as Miss Madison and won the competition in 2022 as Miss Badgerland; and
7 Whereas, Grace Stanke is the first woman to have been selected as both Miss
8 Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen (2017) and Miss Wisconsin (2022); and
9 Whereas, Grace Stanke is an accomplished classical violinist and won the Miss
10 America talent scholarship with her performance of “Storm” from Vivaldi's Four
11 Seasons; and
12 Whereas, Grace Stanke has won over $68,000 in scholarships through the Miss
13 America Organization; and
14 Whereas, Grace Stanke is studying nuclear engineering at the University of
15 Wisconsin-Madison; and

1 Whereas, Grace Stanke is dedicated to her social impact initiative, “Clean
2 Energy, Cleaner Future,” which aims to help the country convert to zero-carbon
3 energy; and
4 Whereas, Grace Stanke is passionate about inspiring girls and young women
5 to study in STEM fields; now, therefore, be it
6 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
7 Legislature does hereby congratulate Grace Stanke on winning the 2023 Miss
8 America pageant and wish her all the best during her reign as Miss America.
