1 AN ACT to amend 92.06 (1) (b) 2. of the statutes; relating to: membership in
2 county land conservation committees.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, each county board must create a land conservation
committee and must appoint to the committee a person from the county's U.S.
Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency (FSA). This bill removes the
requirement to appoint an FSA member to a county land conservation committee and
replaces it with a requirement to appoint a person who is engaged in an agricultural
use. “Agricultural use” is defined as crop or forage production; keeping livestock;
beekeeping; nursery, sod, or Christmas tree production; floriculture; aquaculture;
fur farming; and forest management.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
3 SECTION 1. 92.06 (1) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:
4 92.06 (1) (b) 2. The county board shall appoint to the land conservation
5 committee a person who is the chairperson of the county farm service agency
6 committee created under 16 USC 590h (b) or other county farm service agency
