1 AN ACT to repeal 20.255 (1) (ac); and to create 20.255 (1) (ac) and 115.28 (66)
2 of the statutes; relating to: model curriculum on the history, culture, and
3 contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and making an
4 appropriation.

This bill requires the state superintendent of public instruction to develop a
model curriculum and instructional materials for pupils on the history and culture
of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and their contributions to the economic,
cultural, and social development of this state and the United States.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
5 SECTION 1. 20.255 (1) (ac) of the statutes is created to read:
6 20.255 (1) (ac) Model curriculum; Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. A
7 sum sufficient to develop the model curriculum and instructional materials under s.
8 115.28 (66).

1 SECTION 2. 20.255 (1) (ac) of the statutes, as created by 2021 Wisconsin Act ....
2 (this act), is repealed.
3 SECTION 3. 115.28 (66) of the statutes is created to read:
4 115.28 (66) MODEL CURRICULUM; ASIAN AMERICANS AND PACIFIC ISLANDERS.
5 Develop a model curriculum and instructional materials for pupils on the history and
6 culture of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and the contributions of Asian
7 Americans and Pacific Islanders to the economic, cultural, and social development
8 of this state and the United States.
9 SECTION 4.0Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication,
10 except as follows:
11 (1) The repeal of s. 20.255 (1) (ac) takes effect on July 1, 2025.
