1 AN ACT to amend 118.02 (12) and 421.301 (6) of the statutes; relating to:
2 Indigenous Peoples Day.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under this bill, the special observance day Columbus Day is renamed
Indigenous Peoples Day.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
3 SECTION 1. 118.02 (12) of the statutes is amended to read:
4 118.02 (12) The 2nd Monday in October 12, Christopher Columbus' birthday
5 , Indigenous Peoples Day.
6 SECTION 2. 421.301 (6) of the statutes is amended to read:
7 421.301 (6) “Business day" means any calendar day except Saturday and
8 Sunday, and except the following business holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther
9 King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor
