The Washington State Senate has adopted a resolution honoring Senator Matt Boehnke for his dedicated service to the people of Washington and the 8th Legislative District. Raised in Kennewick and a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities, Senator Boehnke began his public service career on the Kennewick City Council in 2015, later serving in the Washington State House of Representatives and currently in the State Senate since January 2023. Throughout his legislative career, he has been a strong advocate for innovation, workforce development, and policies that support families and local communities, while also serving on various committees that address critical issues such as energy, technology, and education.

In addition to his legislative accomplishments, Senator Boehnke has a distinguished background in the United States Army, where he served for over 21 years, and has contributed to education as a tenured cybersecurity professor at Columbia Basin College. The resolution acknowledges his commitment to bipartisan problem-solving, civic involvement, and mentorship, as well as his advocacy for the Tri-Cities and Eastern Washington.
