The bill amends RCW 18.140.280 to provide clearer guidelines for the registration and renewal process for state-registered trainee real estate appraisers. It allows for an original registration valid for up to two years, with a maximum of two renewals to be completed within seven years from the original registration date. Notably, the bill introduces provisions that permit interruptions to these periods due to illness or other extenuating circumstances confirmed by a health care provider, as well as service in the armed forces. Additionally, it specifies that only one renewal may be granted if the trainee has not met the necessary qualification standards to take the written examination.
Furthermore, the bill defines "health care provider" and outlines the criteria for who qualifies as such, including individuals regulated to practice health services in Washington and their employees or agents. It also empowers the department to create a confirmation form for health care providers. The new provisions are set to take effect on May 1, 2027.
