This bill mandates that entities providing Medicare Advantage coverage in Washington must disclose specific information to both current and potential enrollees. The required disclosures include the entity's claims denial rate as a percentage, the percentage of denied claims that are granted upon appeal, and the process for appealing a denial of coverage. These disclosures must be provided before enrollment and upon request after enrollment.

Additionally, the bill establishes that the practices covered are of significant public interest, thereby applying the consumer protection act to any violations of this chapter. Such violations are deemed unfair or deceptive acts in trade or commerce, as well as unfair methods of competition under the consumer protection act. The bill creates a new chapter in Title 19 RCW to encompass these provisions.
