HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2024-4684, by Representative Schmidt
1 WHEREAS, The Washington State House of Representatives recognizes
2 excellence in every field of endeavor; and
3 WHEREAS, Sydney Frost, an 11th grade student at Mount Spokane
4 High School, is a 2024 Poetry Out Loud Regional Champion; and
5 WHEREAS, Poetry Out Loud is a national program that encourages
6 high school students to learn about poetry through memorization,
7 performance, and competition; and
8 WHEREAS, Over 9,000 students participated at the classroom level
9 at 42 high schools statewide; and
10 WHEREAS, Sydney is one of nine regional champions who will
11 progress to the Poetry Out Loud Final; and
12 WHEREAS, The State Final Champion will represent Washington at
13 the National Poetry Out Loud competition;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
15 congratulate Sydney Frost on her stellar performance at the Poetry
16 Out Loud Regional Championship; and
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
18 immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
19 Representatives to Sydney Frost.
