The Washington State House of Representatives has adopted a resolution recognizing Sydney Frost, an 11th-grade student at Mount Spokane High School, for her outstanding achievement as a 2024 Poetry Out Loud Regional Champion. This national program encourages high school students to engage with poetry through memorization, performance, and competition, with over 9,000 students participating at the classroom level across 42 high schools in Washington. Sydney is one of nine regional champions who will advance to the Poetry Out Loud Final, with the State Final Champion earning the opportunity to represent Washington at the National Poetry Out Loud competition.
