1 AN ACT Relating to death benefits provided by the 1955 act for
2 firefighters' relief and pensions; and amending RCW 41.18.140.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
4 Sec. 1. RCW 41.18.140 and 2007 c 218 s 54 are each amended to
5 read as follows:
6 The board shall pay from the firefighters' pension fund upon the
7 death of any active or retired firefighter the sum of ((five hundred
8 dollars)) $1,000, to assist in defraying the funeral expenses of such
9 firefighter.
