The House concurrent resolution No. R-372 honors George Springston for his significant contributions to environmental and natural resources management over a career spanning more than three decades. Springston, who holds a bachelor's degree from Clemson University and a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts, began his career as an assistant wetlands coordinator at the Agency of Natural Resources in 1991. He later shifted his focus to geologic mapping, becoming a research associate at Norwich University and coauthoring over 40 geologic maps. His expertise has been instrumental in developing Vermont's surficial geologic mapping standards and addressing landslide threats, including compiling inventories and creating a landslide-susceptibility model.

The resolution acknowledges Springston's extensive knowledge and contributions to environmental policy, including his advisory role in flood recovery plans for the Town of Plainfield and his testimony before the House Committee on Environment regarding wetlands regulations. As he concludes his 35 years of service, the General Assembly expresses its gratitude and honors him for his exemplary work in the field. A copy of the resolution will be sent to George Springston as a formal recognition of his achievements.
