The House Concurrent Resolution honors Michael C. Wiater, the General Assembly Head Doorkeeper, and his wife, Donna Wiater, who serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Sergeant at Arms, for their dedicated public service in the State of Vermont. Mike Wiater, a veteran of the U.S. Army, has had a distinguished career with the Vermont State Police for 25 years before transitioning to his role as a doorkeeper in the General Assembly in 2006. He has been recognized for his exemplary performance, particularly after being appointed head doorkeeper in 2017. Donna Wiater has also made significant contributions to the efficiency of the Sergeant at Arms office since 2020.

As they prepare to conclude their tenures in 2026, the resolution expresses gratitude for their invaluable service and the positive impact they have had on the State House staff and legislative processes. The General Assembly extends its best wishes for their future endeavors and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to both Mike and Donna Wiater.
