The resolution honors Starr LaTronica, the Director of Brooks Memorial Library, for her significant contributions to the library and the Brattleboro community. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, LaTronica has held various roles in librarianship, including as a children's librarian and youth services manager before becoming the director of Brooks Memorial Library a decade ago. Under her leadership, the library has expanded its collection, championed against censorship, and provided diverse programming for the community. LaTronica has also adapted the library to meet the technological demands of the 21st century, ensuring internet access and digital resources for all patrons.

The resolution acknowledges LaTronica's compassionate approach to addressing local challenges such as homelessness and addiction, as well as her successful efforts in securing federal grants for library improvements. As she prepares to conclude her tenure in April 2026, the General Assembly expresses its gratitude and admiration for her dedication and impact on the library and the community. A copy of the resolution will be sent to LaTronica and the Brooks Memorial Library as a formal recognition of her achievements.
