The House concurrent resolution R-251 celebrates the centennial anniversary of the National Hanger Company (NAHANCO) in North Bennington, which was established in 1925. NAHANCO has grown to become the largest manufacturer of garment hangers in the United States, producing a variety of hangers in metal, plastic, and wood, as well as offering additional retail solutions such as clothing racks and garment bags. The company is recognized for its commitment to sustainability, utilizing recycled materials in its products and implementing eco-friendly practices in its operations, including the use of cleaner fuels and energy-efficient lighting.

The resolution highlights NAHANCO's significant contributions to the local economy, including its role as a major employer in North Bennington and its expansion efforts supported by a Vermont Employment Growth Incentive grant in 2015. Under the leadership of President Michele Pilcher, NAHANCO continues to thrive, providing a wide range of competitively priced products and services to various sectors, including department stores and restaurants. The General Assembly expresses its congratulations to NAHANCO on this milestone and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to the company and its president.
