The House concurrent resolution congratulates the Thetford Academy Panthers for their remarkable achievement of winning a sixth consecutive Division III boys track and field championship. Weaver Athletic Complex in Burlington, where they excelled in multiple events, scoring a total of 164.5 points, significantly outpacing the runner-up, White River Valley, which scored 65.5 points. Their victories included first-place finishes in the 100-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, and 1,500-meter dashes, as well as in the relays and field events.
Additionally, the resolution highlights the Panthers' impressive performance at the New England Interscholastic Outdoor Track and Field Championship, where they set three new Vermont State records and earned two championship medals in the long jump and 200-meter dash. The resolution acknowledges the contributions of the athletes, co-head coaches, assistant coaches, and team manager, celebrating their collective success in the 2025 season. The General Assembly expresses its pride in the team's accomplishments and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Thetford Academy.
