The House concurrent resolution No. R-181 congratulates Bennington Lodge No. 567 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks on its 125 years of dedicated community service and fellowship. Established on July 10, 1900, the Lodge has a rich history, having moved locations several times before settling in the historic Winslow Home in 1945. The Elks organization, founded in 1868, aims to promote virtues such as charity, justice, and brotherly love, while enhancing the welfare and happiness of its members and fostering American patriotism.

Throughout its history, Bennington Lodge No. 567 has actively engaged in various charitable activities, including supporting youth programs, assisting veterans, and providing direct community support. In 2024 alone, the Lodge awarded $19,000 in scholarships and participated in numerous initiatives such as the Americanism Essay Contest and drug awareness programs. With a thriving membership of over 800, the Lodge continues to embody the Elks' mission of service and fellowship, prompting the General Assembly to formally recognize and celebrate this significant milestone.
