The House concurrent resolution No. R-145 congratulates the Rutland High School cheerleading program for achieving a remarkable milestone by winning their 11th consecutive Division I championship. This victory is particularly noteworthy as it follows a decade of dominance in the sport, where Rutland shared the record for consecutive championships with Essex High School. Despite entering the 2024-2025 season with a team that included several newcomers and less experienced members, the Rutland cheerleaders demonstrated exceptional teamwork and skill, ultimately outperforming their competitors at the State Championship tournament in Vergennes.
The resolution highlights the dedication and hard work of the cheerleading squad, which included members such as Ava Grant, Kylenne Gurney, and Paige Lohsen, among others. Coaches Cara Gauvin and Kayla Beaudry expressed immense pride in their team's achievement. The General Assembly officially recognizes this accomplishment and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Rutland High School, celebrating the team's legacy and success in cheerleading.
