The resolution honors Deborah J. Aldrich for her remarkable 42 years of public service in the Town of Chester, where she served as both Assistant Town Clerk and later as Town Clerk/Treasurer. Beginning her career in 1983, Aldrich quickly established herself as a dedicated and efficient public servant, known for her helpfulness and good humor. In 2005, she was elected as Town Clerk/Treasurer, where she effectively managed the town clerk's office, ensuring smooth election administration and the timely sale of essential services like trash tickets. Throughout her tenure, she collaborated successfully with various town officials and served as a role model for her peers across Vermont.

As of Town Meeting Day 2025, Aldrich concluded her role as Town Clerk but will continue to serve as town treasurer. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, a tribute was published in the Chester Town Report, and the resolution calls for the General Assembly to formally honor her service. The Secretary of State is directed to send a copy of the resolution to Aldrich as a token of appreciation for her dedication to the community.
