The House concurrent resolution No. R-107 congratulates the Montpelier High School Solons boys basketball team for their remarkable achievement of winning a fifth consecutive Division II championship during the 2024-2025 season. The Solons, who were the first seed in the tournament, faced off against the third-seeded Harwood Highlanders in the championship game held at Barre Auditorium. Despite a competitive match, the Solons maintained their lead at halftime and ultimately secured a 68-57 victory, marking a historic accomplishment in Vermont high school sports, as this level of consecutive championships has not been seen in over thirty years.
The resolution acknowledges the contributions of the team members, including Kayden Anderson-Hall, Kleo Bridge, and others, as well as the inspiration provided by Anthony Roberts throughout the season. The General Assembly expresses its pride in the team's success and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Montpelier High School as a formal recognition of their achievement.
