The House concurrent resolution No. R-99 celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Vermont Arts Exchange (VAE), a nonprofit organization founded in 1993 by Matthew Perry and Patricia Pedreira. Initially located in North Bennington, VAE has evolved into a community development organization that offers a variety of studio-based arts programs, including papermaking, printmaking, ceramics, and music. Over the years, VAE has engaged in numerous collaborative projects, such as clearing Paran Creek and creating affordable housing units for low-income families, showcasing its commitment to both the arts and community development.

The resolution highlights VAE's significant contributions to the arts and community engagement, including the establishment of the Basement Music Series and the Art Bus, which brings art programming to various locations. As part of the 30th-anniversary celebration, a month-long exhibit titled "From the Studio to the Streets: Vermont Arts Exchange, 30 Years of Community Engagement through the Arts" will take place at the Bennington Museum, culminating in recognition of VAE's artistic achievements on April 5, 2025. The resolution calls for the General Assembly to officially celebrate this milestone and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to VAE and the Bennington Museum.
