The House concurrent resolution No. R-95 congratulates the 2025 Essex High School Hornets girls gymnastics team for winning their second consecutive State championship. The team, buoyed by their previous year's success and a strong roster of returning athletes, faced an unexpected challenge during the championship meet at Champlain Valley Union High School, as Head Coach Mary Savage was absent due to the birth of her first child. Assistant Coach Anna Charland stepped in to lead the team, which ultimately triumphed by achieving the highest scores in the bars, floor, and beam events, defeating St. Johnsbury Academy with a score of 141.850 to 135.800.

The resolution highlights the dedication of the talented gymnasts, including Jocelyn Bourget, Sarai Crowley, Jill Diehl, Leah Frisbie, Riley Hammond, Anna Kinney, Maybel Lyon-Home, Emerson Marckres, and Rachel Mitchell, who aimed to honor their coach with their victory. The General Assembly expresses its congratulations to the team and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Essex High School, celebrating this significant achievement in the school's athletic history.
