The House concurrent resolution No. R-95 congratulates the 2025 Essex High School Hornets girls gymnastics team for winning their second consecutive State championship. The team, buoyed by their previous year's success and a strong roster of returning athletes, faced a unique challenge during the championship meet at Champlain Valley Union High School, as Head Coach Mary Savage was absent due to the birth of her first child. Assistant Coach Anna Charland stepped in to lead the team, which ultimately honored their coach by achieving the highest scores in the bars, floor, and beam events, securing a victory over St. Johnsbury Academy with a final score of 141.850 to 135.800.

The resolution highlights the dedication and talent of the gymnasts, including standout athletes such as Jocelyn Bourget, Sarai Crowley, and others, who celebrated this significant achievement on a day that was special for both the team and their coach. The General Assembly expresses its congratulations and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Essex High School, recognizing the team's hard work and success in the sport.
