The resolution congratulates Caitlin MacLeod-Bluver from Winooski High School for being named the 2025 Vermont Teacher of the Year. It highlights her impressive academic background, including degrees from Wesleyan University and the University of Massachusetts at Boston, as well as her experience as a reading specialist and adjunct faculty member at the University of Vermont. MacLeod-Bluver is recognized for her ability to create an inclusive curriculum that reflects the diverse backgrounds of her multilingual and multinational students, drawing on her experience with refugee and immigrant students in Boston.
Additionally, the resolution acknowledges Jeremy DeMink from Edmunds Middle School in Burlington and Sonya Shedd from Wolcott Elementary School for their recognition as Distinguished Finalists. The General Assembly expresses its congratulations to all three educators for their exceptional contributions to the field of education. The resolution also directs the Secretary of State to send copies to each of the honored teachers.
