The House of Representatives of Vermont has passed a concurrent resolution in memory of former Representative Curt McCormack of Burlington, who was a dedicated environmental advocate and a licensed electrician. McCormack served in the General Assembly from 1982 until 1995, where he chaired the House committee on environmental issues and was a pioneer in efforts to limit chlorofluorocarbon use. After a brief departure from the legislature, he worked as the Vermont Bicycle-Pedestrian Coordinator, promoting human-powered transportation. In 2012, he returned to the legislature, representing Burlington and serving multiple terms, during which he played a key role in extending Amtrak rail service to the city.

Curt McCormack passed away from cancer on September 16, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving behind his partner, children, grandchildren, and siblings, including former Senator Richard McCormack. The resolution expresses the General Assembly's condolences to his family and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to them, honoring McCormack's significant contributions to environmental and transportation policy in Vermont.
