The Vermont House of Representatives has passed a concurrent resolution congratulating the Essex High School Hornets girls volleyball program for their remarkable achievement of winning a fourth consecutive State championship. The Hornets, who have built a strong reputation in the sport, entered the season with confidence and maintained an undefeated record, ultimately facing the second-seeded Bellows Free Academy-St. Albans Comets in the championship match. The Hornets triumphed in a decisive victory, winning all three sets with scores of 25-23, 25-13, and 25-20, marking their 30th win and extending their impressive streak to 68 consecutive victories.
The resolution highlights the contributions of the talented players, including Riley Austin, Anna Hotaling, and others, as well as the guidance of Head Coach Jen Liguori and Assistant Coach Phil Reynolds. The General Assembly expresses its pride in the team's accomplishments and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Essex High School, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the athletes and coaching staff.
