The House of Representatives of Vermont has passed a concurrent resolution congratulating the 2025 Thetford Academy Panthers for their outstanding performance at the State indoor track and field championship meet held at the University of Vermont. Competing in Division II, the Panthers showcased exceptional talent, with one athlete setting a new Division II record in the 55-meter dash and team members achieving first-place finishes in several events, including the 1,000-meter dash, 4x200 relay, 4x400 relay, and long jump. The Panthers secured the Division II title with a remarkable score of 127-82, significantly outpacing the second-place team, U-32.
The resolution highlights the individual achievements of the team members, including Hunter Clay, Wendell Durham, and others, as well as the contributions of their coaches, Charlie Buttrey and others, who celebrated the team's success. The General Assembly expresses its pride in the Panthers' accomplishments and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Thetford Academy, recognizing the hard work and dedication that led to this championship victory.
