The House of Representatives of Vermont has passed a concurrent resolution congratulating the 2025 Essex High School Hornets Division I boys indoor track and field team for their remarkable achievement of winning a second consecutive Division I championship. The team has established a strong legacy, having secured four championship titles since 2019 and a total of 12 in the program's history. During the recent championship meet at the University of Vermont, the Hornets showcased their talent, with standout performances including a state record in the 55-meter hurdles and victories in multiple events, leading to a decisive win over St. Johnsbury Academy with a score of 130 to 112.

The resolution acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the athletes, listing all team members, and commends Head Coach Nicholas Smith along with the assistant coaches for their contributions to the team's success. The General Assembly expresses its pride in the Hornets' accomplishments and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Essex High School as a formal recognition of their achievement.
