The resolution honors Michael Krasnow for his 27 years of dedicated service to the Town of Charlotte as a member and chair of the Board of Civil Authority (BCA), which plays a crucial role in tax adjudication and electoral administration. In addition to his work with the BCA, Krasnow has significantly impacted the community as the Ski and Ride Program Coordinator, where he has introduced numerous young people to skiing and snowboarding, fostering a love for winter sports among those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.
Krasnow's passion for skiing began at a young age and continued through his career as a public school teacher, where he advised noncompetitive skiing activities for students. After moving to Vermont in 1989, he took on a leadership role in the Ski and Ride Program at Charlotte Central School, overseeing nearly 150 students each winter and facilitating their participation in night skiing sessions at Bolton Valley Resort. His efforts also include managing a ski and snowboard fitting project that provides essential equipment to local youth. The resolution concludes by directing the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Krasnow in recognition of his contributions to the community.
