The House concurrent resolution honors Lucrecia Wonsor, the former Town Clerk and Treasurer of Killington, for her exemplary leadership in municipal government. Wonsor's career began with roles as the secretary of the Killington Planning Commission and assistant town clerk before she became town clerk in 2002 and later added the treasurer position in 2013. She achieved several prestigious certifications, including Certified Municipal Clerk and Master Municipal Clerk, and was recognized as the Town Clerk of the Year by the Vermont Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Association (VMCTA) in 2019 for her significant contributions to the field.
Throughout her career, Wonsor has played a vital role in various municipal organizations, including serving on the executive committee of the VMCTA and acting as webmaster for the New England Association of City and Town Clerks. Her work included compiling essential information for the state-mandated clerk and treasurer fee report and serving as vice chair of the election committee for the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. In recognition of her outstanding service, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Vermont League of Cities and Towns before stepping down from her positions on December 20, 2024. The resolution directs the Secretary of State to send a copy to Wonsor and the Killington Town Clerk.
