The House of Representatives of Vermont has passed a concurrent resolution congratulating Noah Dines, a resident of Vermont, for setting a new world record in vertical skiing. Dines achieved an impressive total of 3,590,097 feet skied vertically within a single year, surpassing the previous record of 2,500,000 feet established in 2016. His remarkable accomplishment required immense stamina and dedication, as he skied nearly 10,000 feet daily, traveling to various locations in the U.S. and abroad to ensure year-round snow conditions.

The resolution highlights Dines' extraordinary efforts, including the use of multiple ski boots and sets of skis, and his commitment to exceeding his initial goal of 3,000,000 feet. By the end of his endeavor on December 30, 2024, he had skied a total of 6,082 miles and spent 2,268.34 hours skiing, averaging nearly 10,000 vertical feet and over 6 hours of skiing each day. The General Assembly expresses its admiration for Dines' achievement, equating his vertical skiing record to 120 ascents of Mount Everest, and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to him.
