The House concurrent resolution honors Joan W. Coursier for her exceptional community service in establishing and leading the Halifax senior meal program. Recognizing the importance of providing hot and nutritious meals to senior citizens, which not only nourishes them physically but also offers companionship, Joan identified a need in her community 25 years ago. She took the initiative to create a meal service that not only delivered food but also fostered a sense of belonging among the seniors in Halifax.
Throughout her tenure, Joan has played multiple roles in the program, from provisioning and preparing meals to serving them, all while enhancing the program's quality with her superb cooking. Her unwavering dedication has significantly benefited the Halifax community, and as she concludes her service on March 21, 2025, she will be celebrated at a special gathering. The resolution formally recognizes her contributions and directs the Secretary of State to send a copy to Joan Coursier as a token of appreciation for her exemplary service.
