Gracie was a highly regarded police officer, known for her significant contributions to law enforcement, including over 500 deployments and the recovery of drugs and currency valued at more than $1.6 million. Her presence was felt not only in her professional duties but also in the community, where she participated in local school visits and community events, earning the respect and admiration of Bennington residents.
In recognition of her service, the resolution expresses condolences to the Bennington Police Department and Gracie's many admirers. It also notes that a new K-9 training yard will be constructed in her honor, ensuring her legacy continues to impact the community. The resolution directs the Secretary of State to send copies to key members of the Bennington Police Department, including Police Chief Paul J. Doucette Jr., Lt. Camillo A. Grande, and Officer Robert Murawski, Gracie's human caretaker.
