The resolution commemorates the 120th anniversary of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, which was established in 1904 following the adoption of the 1904 Acts and Resolves No. 277 by the General Assembly. Initially opened as the Hemlocks Hospital, it has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare facility featuring a 37-bed hospital and a nursing training program. Over the years, the hospital has undergone significant expansions and improvements, including the addition of various buildings dedicated to patient care, outpatient services, and surgical services, ultimately becoming a licensed facility with 61 beds and employing over 600 staff members.

In recognition of its contributions to the community, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital has been acknowledged by the Lown Institute as the top hospital in Vermont for Social Responsibility, Health Equity, and Community Benefit. The resolution expresses the General Assembly's congratulations to the hospital on this significant milestone, and it directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to the hospital to commemorate the occasion.
