Offered by: Representatives Noyes of Wolcott and Carpenter of Hyde Park Offered by: Senator Westman Whereas, the residents of the Town of Johnson know Lynda Hill as a person who not only expresses concern and compassion for her neighbors but takes hands-on action to
effectuate tangible results, and Whereas, her involvement in community projects is a regular occurrence, and she always performs with no expectation of recognition but rather as her selfless response when
a helping hand is required, and Whereas, during the July 2023 flood, which resulted in extensive damage in the Town of Johnson, Lynda Hill stepped up to volunteer her time at the emergency operations center,
the emergency shelter, and the donation center, and she even housed a town employee for
a couple of days during the height of the crisis, refusing any form of reimbursement for her lodging services, and Whereas, recognizing the importance of public education, Lynda Hill has served as a member of the Johnson School Board, and Whereas, in 2022, seeking to contribute to the decision-making process for the operation of the municipal government, Lynda Hill successfully stood for election to the Town of
Johnson Selectboard, her two-year term as a member of the municipality’s legislative body was productive, and her municipal legislative service enhanced policy deliberations, and Whereas, although Lynda Hill opted not to seek reelection in 2024, she will no doubt remain active in the civic life of Johnson, now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors Lynda Hill for her enthusiastic and beneficial community service in the Town of Johnson, and be it further Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Lynda Hill.
