humanitarianism, and community service of Dr. David Baasch of Wallingford.

By Representatives Burditt of West Rutland and Peterson of Clarendon Whereas, upon his 1982 graduation from the University of Maryland Dental School,
David Baasch and his wife, Debra, moved to Wallingford, where he established a dental practice, and Whereas, David Baasch has served in important professional leadership roles as a member of the Vermont Dental Workforce Committee, as president of the Vermont State Dental Society and the Vermont Dental Foundation, as a member of the American Dental Association House of Delegates, and in governance positions at Northeast Delta Dental,
and Whereas, David Baasch was committed to promoting high-quality dental care in the State as both chair and chief examiner of the Vermont Board of Dental Examiners and to
providing clinical examinations to fourth-year American and international dental students through his service on the Commission of Dental Competencies Assessments Board, and Whereas, he was elected a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and this esteemed organization subsequently honored him with a commendation award, and Whereas, David Baasch’s inclination to assist others prompted him to participate on
medical missions to Zimbabwe; volunteer with the Vermont Recovering Professionals Program; serve on the board of the Rutland Habitat for Humanity; run for and serve as the Wallingford Rotary Club President; and to establish the Baasch Foundation, which raises awareness of HIV/AIDS and supports the education of women and girls in developing countries; and, beyond all these activities, he has a special musical relationship with the Town of Wallingford, now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors the dental career achievements, humanitarianism,
and community service of Dr. David Baasch of Wallingford, and be it further Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Dr. David Baasch.
