6 Subject: Internal security and public safety; domestic pets; dogs; retail stores
7 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to amend the
8 domestic pet law to permit domestic dogs to be brought into retail stores and
9 other retail locations, but not areas where food is prepared, if the following
10 requirements are met:
11 (1) the dog has no history of aggressive behavior; and
12 (2) during the entire time the dog is in the retail store or other retail
13 location the dog is:
14 (A) leashed; and
15 (B) kept under the control of the individual who brought it into the
16 retail store or other retail location.

18 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
