8 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to amend
9 24 V.S.A. § 4412(1)(G) to clarify that to qualify under the statute, a group
10 home shall not have the intent or effect of segregating its residents from the
11 surrounding community. The bill would require a group home to work to
12 integrate its residents into the community in which it is located, whether
13 through educational, work, or other opportunities.
