Act No. 95 (H.741). An act relating to health insurance coverage for colorectal cancer
screening
Subjects: Health; health insurance; colorectal cancer screening
This act modifies an existing requirement for health insurance coverage of colorectal
cancer screening for individuals who are not at high risk for colorectal cancer to bring the
coverage into alignment with U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations; the
act maintains the prohibition on health plans imposing any patient cost-sharing
requirements. For high-risk individuals, the law continues to require plans to cover
colorectal cancer screening examinations and laboratory tests as recommended by the
treating clinician, also without imposing any patient cost-sharing requirements.
