Act No. 173 (H.644). An act relating to access to records by individuals who were in foster
care
Subjects: Human services; Department for Children and Families; child welfare
services; records of abuse and neglect
This act amends certain statutes governing access to records of abuse and neglect and
juvenile justice proceedings. This act allows individuals to access these records, provided
that the individual is the subject of the records sought by the request, 18 years of age or
older, and was in foster care or subject to a juvenile judicial proceeding as a minor.
