6 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to update the
7 funding for and governance of career technical Education based on a report
8 provided by the Agency of Education.
9 An act relating to revising the funding for and governance of career
10 technical education
11 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
12 Sec. 1. FUNDING FOR AND GOVERNANCE STRUCTURES OF
13 CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION IN VERMONT
14 It is the intent of the General Assembly to implement, as it sees fit, the
15 Agency of Education’s recommendations on the funding for and governance of
16 Vermont’s career technical education (CTE) system from its written report
17 required pursuant to 2022 Acts and Resolves No. 127, Sec. 17.

1 Sec. 2. AGENCY OF EDUCATION FINAL CTE RECOMMENDATIONS
2 AND REPORT; STATUS UPDATE
3 On or before February 1, 2024, the Agency of Education shall issue to the
4 Generally Assembly its final written report and recommendations for changes
5 to the funding and governance structures of Vermont’s CTE system. The
6 report shall include all information and recommendations necessary to
7 complete the Agency’s work as required under 2022 Acts and Resolves No.
8 127, Sec. 17. If the final report and recommendations are not complete on or
9 before February 1, 2024, the Agency shall issue a written status update to the
10 General Assembly on or before February 1, which shall include a description
11 of the work necessary to complete the report and a date by which the final
12 report and recommendations shall be completed.
13 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE
14 This act shall take effect on passage.
