6 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to modify the
7 day when presidential electors meet, as required by the federal Electoral Count
8 Reform Act.
9 An act relating to the meeting of presidential electors
10 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
11 Sec. 1. 17 V.S.A. § 2732(a) is amended to read:
12 (a) The electors shall meet at the State House on the first Monday Tuesday
13 after the second Wednesday in December next following their election to vote
14 for the President and Vice President of the United States, agreeably to the laws
15 of the United States.
16 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE
17 This act shall take effect on passage.
