9 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
10 Green Mountain Care Board to hold its hearings on each hospital’s budget in
11 the local community in which the hospital is located.
12 An act relating to holding local hearings on hospital budgets
13 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
14 Sec. 1. 18 V.S.A. § 9456 is amended to read:
15 § 9456. BUDGET REVIEW
16 (a) The Board shall conduct reviews of each hospital’s proposed budget
17 based on the information provided pursuant to this subchapter and in
18 accordance with a schedule established by the Board.
19 (b) In conjunction with budget reviews, the Board shall:

1 (6) meet with hospitals in the hospitals’ local communities to review and
2 discuss hospital budgets for the forthcoming fiscal year;
3 (7) give public notice of the meetings with hospitals, which shall be held
4 in the hospitals’ local communities, and invite the public to attend and to
5 comment on the proposed budgets;

7 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE
8 This act shall take effect on passage.
