6 Subject: Motor vehicles; operator’s licenses; suspensions; reinstatement;
7 driving under the influence
8 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to amend or
9 modify the requirements for operator’s license reinstatement, including
10 following a conviction of driving under the influence, so as to eliminate or
11 minimize financial barriers; ensure that reinstatement requirements, such as
12 completion of the Impaired Driving Rehabilitation Program (IDRP), are
13 targeted to a conviction for driving under the influence and can be completed
14 in a timely manner prior to reinstatement; and, as appropriate, increase use of
15 Ignition Interlock Devices (IIDs) and participation in the Total Abstinence
16 Program.
