6 Subject: Insurance; homeowners; weather events; availability; rates; study
7 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
8 Commissioner of Financial Regulation to monitor the homeowners insurance
9 market in Vermont to determine whether weather events such as flooding have
10 led to increased rates or decreased availability of such insurance and, if so,
11 whether establishment of a joint underwriting association is necessary to
12 protect homeowners from a limited or nonextant voluntary market in all or
13 parts of the State.

15 and protecting consumers
16 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
