18 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
19 Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets to establish a pilot program to
20 explore providing financial assistance to farmers to implement year-round
21 agricultural practices in various geographic regions of Vermont. The bill VT LEG #366406 v.1

1 would require the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets to adopt
2 standards, criteria, or practices for year-round agriculture. In addition, the bill
3 would appropriate funds to the Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets for
4 the purpose of implementing a year-round agricultural practice assistance
5 program.
6 An act relating to establishing a program to encourage the implementation
7 of year-round agricultural practices
8 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
