Act No. 34 (H. 62). An act relating to the interstate Counseling Compact
Subjects: Health; mental health; interstate Counseling Compact
Sec. 1 of this act adopts the interstate Counseling Compact. Sec. 2 of this act
authorizes the Office of Professional Regulation to inquire into the criminal background
histories of applicants for initial licensure and license renewal, including for licensed
clinical mental health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, and individuals
registered on the roster for psychotherapists who are nonlicensed and noncertified. Sec. 3
of this act requires that a licensee of a remote state under the Counseling Compact pay a
biennial $50.00 privilege to practice fee.
Effective Date: Multiple effective dates, beginning on July 1, 2023
