Short-term rental properties; hotels; human trafficking awareness training. Requires every operator, defined in the bill, and its employees to complete an approved training course on recognizing and reporting instances of suspected human trafficking, as provided or approved by the Department of Criminal Justice Services. The bill allows a court to order the closure of a hotel or a short-term rental property for a period not to exceed six months in the event that such hotel or property is found to have been the site of human trafficking. The bill has a delayed effective date of July 1, 2027. The bill contains technical amendments.
