This bill addresses guardianship and conservatorship resources.
This bill:
- requires local mental health authorities, the state protection and advocacy agency, and certain offices and divisions within the Department of Health and Human Services to provide information and referrals to resources related to guardianship and conservatorship to individuals that contact those entities;
- permits the Office of Public Guardian to provide training and assistance related to guardianship and conservatorship;
- amends provisions related to an advance mental health care directive to include an individual's preferences regarding a person to serve as guardian for the individual;
- defines terms; and
- makes technical and conforming changes.
