This bill modifies provisions related to fees and various administrative procedures of the Utah court system.
This bill:
- removes unused provisions;
- modifies language addressing bail to conform with recent statutory changes;
- provides that all civil document fees for justice courts and courts of record are provided at no charge to the state, state agencies, and political subdivisions;
- increases the filing fee surcharge for cases filed using the online court assistance program;
- updates terminology; and
- provides that a request for a protective order does not have a filing fee surcharge under the online court assistance program.
