4 General Description:
5 This bill creates a highway and a rest area designation.
6 Highlighted Provisions:
7 This bill:
8 ▸ establishes the Jake Garn Legacy Highway; and
9 ▸ establishes the Governor Scott Matheson and Senator Jake Garn Rest Area.

19 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
20 Section 1. Section 72-4-221 is enacted to read:
21 72-4-221 . Jake Garn Legacy Highway.
22 (1) There is established the Jake Garn Legacy Highway comprising a section of Route 40
23 from I-80 southerly to Route 32.
24 (2) The Department of Transportation shall designate the portions of the highway described
25 in Subsection (1) as Jake Garn Legacy Highway on future state highway maps.
26 Section 2. Section 72-4-222 is enacted to read:
27 72-4-222 . Governor Scott Matheson and Senator Jake Garn Rest Area.
28 There is established the Governor Scott Matheson and Senator Jake Garn Rest Area

30 Section 3. Effective date.
31 This bill takes effect on May 1, 2024.
