9 General Description:
10 This bill designates a living historic landmark.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 < defines the term "living historic landmark"; and
14 < designates Ballet West's production of Willam Christensen's "The Nutcracker" as a
15 living historic landmark.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

26 Section 1. Section 63G-1-1001 is enacted to read:
27 Part 10. State Living Historic Landmark
28 63G-1-1001. Living historic landmarks.
29 (1) As used in this part, "living historic landmark" means a cultural event:
30 (a) that is significant to the history, culture, economy, and character of the state;
31 (b) that is unique to the state;
32 (c) that is first in the nation;
33 (d) that has occurred in the state at least annually for no less than 65 years;
34 (e) for any designation after May 1, 2024, that is nominated by the Legislative
35 Management Committee for the Legislature's consideration as a living historic landmark; and
36 (f) that the Legislature designates as a a living historic landmark in Section
37 63G-1-1002.
38 (2) A living historic landmark is not owned or managed by the state.
39 Section 2. Section 63G-1-1002 is enacted to read:
40 63G-1-1002. Living historic landmarks designated.
41 Ballet West's production of Willam Christensen's "The Nutcracker" is designated as a
42 living historic landmark.
43 Section 3. Effective date.
44 This bill takes effect on May 1, 2024.
